中国污染物有毒危险性评价

    对化学污染物进行有毒危险性评价，是环境医学一个正在发展的研究领域。毒理学家正面临的挑战，至少有以下几个重要领域：
1．低浓度污染对人体健康影响有毒危险性评价的方法学研究更为迫切。
2．化学混合物的毒理学评价需要改进。
3．毒理学试验的最终目的，是评价污染物对人的有毒危险性，存在动物实验数据外推到人的安全性问题，同时人群毒理学有待发展。
    这本书涉及以上内容还不多，我们希望通过毒理学研究与实践并加强国际学术交流，以促进以上领域的研究与发展。
    这本书的英文版是国际科联环境问题委员会中国委员会（SCOPE CAST China）系列丛书的第一部，我作为该委员的委员担任此部书的主编，原试图让国际同行了解在中国我们所进行的一些工作，促进国际学术交流与合作，达到共同提高的目的。英文版出版后，应国内读者和在校学生的要求，又修订出此中文版。

An Assessment of the Toxicity and Hazards of Pollutants in China

Toxic risk assessment is a developing research field in environmental medicine. Toxicologists are facing some challenges as follow:

1. To develop risk assessment methodology for estimating low concentration pollution on human health are more important at present than that of before.

2. There is an increasing need to improve toxicological evaluation of chemical mixtures.

3. The ultimate goal of the toxicologic testing and related studies is to assess the safety / risk of toxicants in humans. So the extrapolation from animal experiment to humans is needed and human population toxicology should be developed.

The book is a collaborative effort of a number of noted authorities in their respective fields. I hope that this book will assist those who need to know the risk assessment will increase significantly in the coming years through international academic exchanges.

I would like to express my sincere thanks to the famous environmental scientist Prof. Geping Qu , the famous medicinal scientist Prof. Debing Wang and the famous preventive medicine scientist Prof. Shijie Liu who have written the foreword for this book, Prof. Geping Qu is the famous leader of environmental protection who has won the prize and honour from UNEP in 1992. Prof. Debing Wang is the present president of Beijing Medical University. Prof. Shijie Liu is my teacher and he is the vice president of Chinese association of preventive medicine. Besides, my teacher Prof. Hansheng Hu and Prof. Jingyi Liu, general secretary, SCOPE China much concerns about the editing and publishing of the book.

I would also like to thank Prof. Yugu Liu, a famous environmental toxicologist who checked and approved the book. Thanks to my wife Prof. Jidi Chen who read and revised the book. I Think of Prof. Xiaokai Huang who polished part of chapters for the book.
